Frequently Asked Questions

PRODUCTS

Q: Where do the feathers in your products come from? A: All feathers used in our creations are ethically harvested from upland game by Courtney and William Bastian, along with their bird dogs, during hunts on public lands. We believe in conserving as much as possible from each bird we harvest, turning feathers into art. Please note, per the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918, no migratory or waterfowl birds are used in our pieces.

CUSTOM WORK

Q: Can I have a piece made from feathers collected during my own hunt? A: Absolutely! We specialize in creating bespoke pieces from feathers you’ve collected during your hunts. You’re responsible for mailing the feathers to us, and we’ll collaborate with you to craft a piece that commemorates your special hunt. We can also incorporate our materials into your custom piece. Please note, custom orders typically have a 1-3 month waiting period depending on the complexity and quantity of the product. Rush orders may be subject to an additional fee. Contact us at [email protected] for custom inquiries.

SHIPPING

Q: Do you ship internationally? A: Yes, we ship our pieces internationally. The purchaser is responsible for covering shipping costs. Ready-to-ship items will be sent within 7 days from the payment date. We generally use USPS for shipping and will provide a tracking number, but UPS and FedEx are also available upon request. For those in or near Potomac, MT, we offer local pickup. Simply choose “local pickup” at checkout if you prefer this option.

Q: How are the pieces shipped and can I track my order? A: Our preferred shipping method is USPS, and a tracking number will be provided for all orders to ensure you can monitor your shipment’s progress. If you prefer UPS or FedEx, please let us know. We ensure each piece is securely packaged to reach you safely.

PRESERVATION

Q: How should I care for my feathered piece to ensure its longevity? A: To preserve the beauty and integrity of your feathered piece, avoid direct sunlight, high humidity, and contact with liquids. Dust gently with a soft brush and keep in a display case if possible. For more detailed care instructions tailored to your specific item, feel free to contact us.
